Legal · Terms of Use
The short version: Anvil generates firm-specific regulatory analysis to support your compliance workflow. It is not a law firm, not a compliance officer, and not a substitute for qualified professional judgment. Every output should be reviewed by a qualified compliance professional before being relied upon in any regulatory, examination, or enforcement context.
Section 01
Anvil Compliance is a regulatory intelligence platform that generates firm-specific compliance briefs from regulatory documents. Given a regulatory notice, final rule, or agency guidance document, Anvil produces a structured analysis scoped to the entity type you have configured in your firm profile — identifying applicable obligations, extracting key deadlines, assessing non-compliance risk, and recommending immediate actions.
Anvil is a compliance planning tool. It is designed to accelerate and structure the work of compliance professionals, not to replace the professional judgment those workflows require. The platform is intended for use by or under the supervision of qualified compliance counsel, registered compliance professionals, or other personnel with relevant regulatory expertise.
By using Anvil, you agree to these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
Section 02
Anvil's outputs do not constitute legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is created by use of this platform, by any communication with Anvil Compliance, or by receipt of any generated compliance brief. Anvil is not a law firm and does not provide legal services.
Generated compliance briefs are analytical tools intended to support — not replace — the professional judgment of qualified compliance counsel. A brief produced by Anvil reflects the state of the analytical model at the time of generation and is subject to the limitations described in Section 5. It does not constitute a legal opinion, a regulatory determination, or a guarantee of compliance with any applicable law or regulation.
You are solely responsible for any decision you make based on Anvil's output. All outputs should be independently verified by a qualified legal or compliance professional before being relied upon in any regulatory, examination, or enforcement context.
All Anvil-generated content is labeled "for compliance planning purposes and does not constitute legal advice." This label is accurate and you should treat it accordingly.

Section 05
Anvil enforces five structural precision rules on every output to maximize reliability: anchored dates, source separation, citation confidence thresholds, proposed-vs-final delta surfacing, and stale document detection. Despite these measures, Anvil’s outputs are not guaranteed to be complete, current, or accurate in any specific case.
Known limitations include:
Anvil makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any generated output. Use of Anvil’s outputs without independent professional verification is at your sole risk.
Section 06
Anvil’s property
The Anvil platform — including its analytical framework, precision rule architecture, user interface, system prompt design, and underlying code — is the proprietary intellectual property of Anvil Compliance. These Terms do not grant you any ownership interest in any component of the platform.
Your property
Compliance briefs generated by Anvil based on your firm profile and your uploaded documents are owned by you. Anvil claims no ownership over the content of generated briefs.
Limited license to Anvil
By using the platform, you grant Anvil Compliance a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store generated briefs in encrypted form for caching purposes as described in the Privacy Policy, and to process source documents through the Anthropic API for the sole purpose of generating your requested analysis. This license terminates upon account deletion.
Your documents
You represent that you have the right to upload any document you submit to Anvil for analysis and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.
Section 07
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Section 08
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify Anvil immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
Anvil Compliance may suspend or terminate your account if:
You may close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Upon account closure, your data is handled per the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy.
Section 09
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If such negotiation fails to resolve the dispute within 30 days, the dispute shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Wilmington, Delaware, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.
Section 10
We will notify all registered users of material changes to these Terms by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Minor clarifications that do not affect your rights or obligations may be made without advance notice. The current effective date of these Terms is always shown at the top of this page.
